A Performer, Singer, Composer, Winner of India’s biggest music reality show (Sa Re Ga Ma), his music is the music of difference. He spins together arrangements, instruments, treatments, classical and folk elements, new and old sounds, to create and recreate tunes that touch the inner realms of your soul. Parthiv’s entry into music was the result of a dream his father saw even before he was born. His teachers Bhanuben, Dakshaben Mehta, and Lakshmipati Shukla polished his natural talent for music. Parthiv participated in several regional competitions, state level competitions, and college festivals, winning many accolades. His first break-through came, when at fourteen he left his home to spend a month in Bhopal under the tutelage of Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar Saheb. This made an enormous impact on Parthiv’s life. It became the turning point which made him decide that he wanted to devote the rest of his life to music. Parthiv hit the limelight when he won the finals of Sa Re Ga Ma, singing very difficult classical numbers originally sung by Bade Ghulam Ali Khan and Amir Khan, the classical music legends of yesteryears. He sang so effortlessly that he impressed Pandit Jasraj who was one of the judges. His first music album “Sapnay” was directed by Mr.Vishal Bharadwaj, a national award winner. He has hosted the program “Sa Re Ga Ma” on Alpha Gujarati channel of ZEE. His work as a film singer started with the title song and some back vocals for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film “Devdas”. He lent his voice to the award-winning film “Sawaariya”, “Sahib Biwi aur Gangster”, “Heroes”, “EMI”. He has been featured in MTV COKE STUDIO INDIA as well as the national iconic song “Phir Mile Sur”. He led the team in ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mega Challenge’ and even there, he succeeded to make the musical mark on the heart of audiences & judges. Concept based programmes are his forte and his music shows like “Saazz”, “Sur Gulal”, “Ras Gulal”, “Sugam Sargam”, “Ishq Sufiyana” “Raag Rang” have become instant successes in India. Recently, Parthiv started his own fusion ensemble “Aakruti” which aims at combining Indian music with a global tunes.
